Stena Drilling semi-sub awarded Golden Eagle contract by Nexen

Stena Drilling’s 1983-built semi-submersible rig Stena Spey has been awarded a contract, following a competitive tender, by Nexen Petroleum.

The rig will conduct a drilling campaign over a period of around 110 days at the Golden Eagle field in the UK North Sea. The contract also includes an option for one additional well.

Work will commence on completion of drilling of a well with Repsol-Sinopec.
