SuperStar Gemini readies Xiamen debut

Hong Kong: Star Cruises has announced three itineraries for SuperStar Gemini starting October 9 as it commences homeporting from Xiamen for the first time.

The new routes will take passengers to Keelung, Penghu, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Hong Kong, Boracay and Manila, the first time that SuperStar Gemini has called in the Philippines.

William Ng, ceo, Star Cruises, said, “Star Cruises has been calling into China since 1994 inclusive of Xiamen. We were the first international cruise line to open up this market. We’ve introduced China to more than 1.2m tourists from around the world by ship. With Xiamen being our homeport for SuperStar Gemini, we’re pleased to take Chinese customers on cruise holidays to destinations in Taiwan, Boracay and Manila.”

SuperStar Gemini is currently homeporting in Shanghai.

The recently refurbished ship has collaborated with China Duty Free to design a 450 sq m duty free shopping section onboard.  [12/08/13]
