Swiber faces $4.76m in claims

Singapore’s Swiber Holdings is facing outstanding letters of demand for a combined $4.76m from unidentified claimants.

The Singapore-listed group is currently seeking legal advice but says it has sufficient resources to satisfy all the claims, which are “trade in nature”.

“In consultation with its solicitors, the group will be evaluating the merits of each claim and take all necessary steps and measures to vigorously defend any claims that are without proper basis,” said Swiber, which provides construction and support services to the offshore oil and gas industry.

The group’s contract backlog is currently worth around $1.2bn, having most recently won contracts for offshore construction projects in the Middle East and south-east Asia.
