TCC orders first newbuilds since 2018

Hong Kong’s Tai Chong Cheang (TCC Group) has signed for two LR2 tankers at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, marking its first newbuilds for around five years.

The 114,000 dwt ships will deliver in 2026. No price has been revealed for the pair.

The Koo family-controlled TCC and Waigaoqiao have strong relationships. Around the turn of the century, it was TCC which helped the yard develop a capesize design, which became a bestseller around the world.
