TechnipFMC pens 20-year framework deal with Chevron Australia

UK-based subsea company TechnipFMC has signed a 20-year framework agreement with Chevron Australia for the provision of subsea production systems.

Under the framework agreement, TechnipFMC will provide Subsea 2.0 configure-to-order subsea production systems for gas field developments off Australia’s northwest coast.

The agreement covers the supply of wellheads, tree systems, manifolds, controls, flexible jumpers, and flying leads.

The production systems will be manufactured by TechnipFMC’s dedicated Subsea 2.0 facility in Nusajaya, Malaysia.

“Subsea 2.0 is field-proven technology, which reduces engineering complexity and shortens lead times. We are delighted to have the opportunity to support Chevron’s gas production needs under this long-term agreement,” Jonathan Landes, president of Subsea at TechnipFMC, said.

It is worth mentioning that one of the more notable projects TechnipFMC worked on for Chevron Australia was the Gorgon Stage Two development offshore Western Australia. The work involved engineering, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of umbilicals and flying leads as well as manifolds.

But Australia has been fruitful for TechnipFMC if we only look at the past week. On Wednesday, the company secured a contract from Woodside Energy for the Julimar Phase 3 development off Australia.

The contract worth between $75m and $250m covers engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of flexible pipes and umbilicals.
