Teekay sells last MR tanker

Teekay has disposed of its last remaining MR tanker, the 11-year-old Hugli Spirit. Clarksons Research reports Champion Tankers has taken the Korean-built ship for a price in the low-mid $13ms.

“In light of recent activity, this price is considered fairly robust and, with new enquiry coming into this market, it will be interesting to see if prices start to hold their own,” Clarksons mused in its latest weekly report.

Teekay Tankers sold another Korean-built MR chemical/product tanker Teesta Spirit to unknown Greek interests for $14m in July.
