Tianjin Shihua crude terminal expansion project suspended

Dalian: The Tianjin Shihua crude oil terminal expansion project has been suspended, according to a report released by the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

The expansion project of the crude oil terminal located at Nanjiang port area of Tianjin included one 300,000dwt berth with an annual handling capacity of 18m tons.

After the recent Sinopec explosion accident at Huangdao, Qingdao, the government has paid more attention on the environment evaluation of energy projects. The Shihua project will need to be reworked before it can pass assessment. [20/01/14]
