Transocean secures semi-sub contract in the Caribbean

Offshore driller Transocean has been awarded a one year contract for the deployment of its 2009-built semi-submersible rig Development Driller III off the coast of Trinidad and Tobago.

The contract is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2020 and will contribute approximately $91m dollars of contract backlog for the company.

Transocean operates a fleet of 45 mobile offshore drilling units consisting of 28 ultra-deepwater floaters, 14 harsh environment floaters and three midwater floaters. In addition, the company has two drillships on its orderbook.
