Tuco Marine Group: Workboat specialist

Faaborg: Danish shipbuilder Tuco Marine Group has recently launched its 2015 version of its popular ProZero series, the ProZero 10.5m WBW Archipelago workboat. The vessel is a fast and light multipurpose workboat that features a hydraulic bow gate and a deck crane for handling cargo over the vessel’s side.

The light workboat is equipped with a Volvo Penta D9 inboard diesel engine and it is capable of doing more than 25 knots when transporting crew and passengers.

The ProZero series of boats was first launched in mid-2014. The core idea of the ProZero series is to create a product that will be competitive not only when it comes to the weight (it is around 30% lighter than other workboat models), but also on parameters like delivery time and customization according to customer demands.

Jonas Pedersen, managing director and co-founder of the firm, says the company is enjoying good business at present and there are no plans to diversify into other ship types.

“We see the workboats and fast rescue craft as an area where our ProZero boat differentiates us much from our competitors and therefore our focus will be on this,” he tells Maritime CEO.
