Two killed as fire hits another Pemex platform

Pemex, Mexico’s state oil company, suffered a fire on one of its oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico.

The fire on the Abkatun A platform killed two workers and injured eight. It was brought under control on Sunday morning and the platform was not abandoned.

The fire began in an area of compression equipment.

This is the third fire in seven months to hit the Pemex fleet.
