Singapore: Uni-Asia Holdings announced that Uni-Asia Finance Corporation Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, had acquired a 100% shareholding interest in a Japan-incorporated company known as Arena Godo Kaisha, as a ship owning company, for the purpose of acquiring a newbuilding ship.
The vessel will be bought from Japan’s Minato Kaiun for $9.1m under a leaseback deal. The ship will be delivered in the second quarter of 2015.
Minato Kaiun will bareboat charter the new vessel for five years from Arena GK, and will purchase the vessel upon expiration of the chartering contract. [15/07/14]
