Union Maritime in for more Wuhu tankers

UK shipowner Union Maritime has increased its tanker orderbook with six newbuilds contracted at China’s Wuhu Shipyard.

The Laurent Cadji-led outfit has signed up for four more 18,500 dwt chemical tankers and a pair of 49,000 dwt MR2 vessels, worth about $210m in total.

Founded in 2006, the London-based company lists a diversified fleet of 91 ships on its website, including 26 newbuild projects, the majority of which are spread across Chinese shipyards.

In addition to the latest MR order, Wuhu is listed as building 10 out of 16 18,500 dwt units delivering between April 2025 and January 2027.
