United Ocean bulker sold at Tokyo auction

Supramax bulker Ocean Paradise sold at action in Tokyo last week, after making the headlines for attracting interest from owners across the world with some 15 inspections taking place in Hong Kong prior to its sale.

The United Ocean ship fetched $9.2 m according to broker reports.

Built nine years ago at Tsuneishi Cebu, the 58,701 dwt ‘Tess 58’ design bulker becomes the fifth kamsarmax sold since the Japanese owner went bankrupt last year.

The sale price is close to what online portal Vesselvalue.com values the ship at, although the buyer has yet to be revealed with plenty of Hong Kong owners said to be in the running.
