Singapore: HNA Tourism, an affiliate of transport giant HNA Group, is making final decisions on the configuration of the Pacific Sun, which it has bought from P&O Cruises. HNA Tourism has selected Singapore’s Sembawang Shipyard to carry out the refit of the 47,700 gt 1986-built ship with a contract due to be signed soon.
The aim is to get the refitted ship, renamed Henna, out onto the market by January next year to provide routes from Tianjin and Sanya.
The ship will fly the flag of Malta for providing more convenient services such as tax free shopping on the ship.
