Vietnamese PM approves 2020 transport goals

Hanoi: Vietnamese prime minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a transport plan for the nation that sets ambitious goals for every facet of transport between now and 2020. 

On the shipping front, national shipping lines should be handling 25-30% more cargoes by 2020, according to the plans. 

Meanwhile, the development of national seaports and international gateway ports in key economic zones will continue with Lach Huyen and Cai Mep – Thi Vai seaports in Hai Phong and Vung Tau being put into the best use. At the same time, foreign investment will be drawn to Van Phong international transhipment port, while rail links to key ports will be boosted.  [28/07/14]
