Viking Supply Ships wins anchor handler work in Australia

Sweden’s Viking Supply Ships has signed a contract for one of its anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels for operations outside Australia.

Viking Supply Ships said that it won a deal for the Far Senator anchor handler – soon to be named Andreas Viking.

The vessel will be operated by Go Offshore under a time-charter with an unnamed international oil company. Go Offshore manages and operates a fleet of 20 offshore vessels and supports clients in offshore projects, including marine, subsea, and renewables.

The contract length for the fixed period is 412 days, with the start of the deal during the first quarter of 2024. In addition to the fixed period, the client has five 30-day options to extend the time-charter.
