Shanghai: Scorpio Bulkers has chosen CSSC-affiliated Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding to build a total of nine bulkers, as part of its fleet expansion plan.
The New York-listed owner has placed seven 180,000 dwt bulkers at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding with deliveries scheduled in 2015 and 2016, and two 82,000 dwt bulkers at Hudong-Zhonghua with deliveries scheduled in the first half of 2016.
Scorpio Bulkers has ordered 22 bulkers in total to expand its fleet, with thirteen vessels ordered at Korea’s Sungdong Shipbuilding and Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries. [07/01/14]
