Wallenius Wilhelmsen inks $300m transport deal

Norwegian car carrier operator Wallenius Wilhelmsen has signed a three-year transport deal worth around $300m.

The multi-year deal is with an undisclosed large Swedish manufacturing company. The new agreement, which has a duration of three years, plus a two-year extension option, is valued at approximately $300 million in total, based on expected volumes over the three years.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen said that the contract started in January 2024, with rates in line with current market levels.

“Sharing our commitment towards sustainability, as part of the new agreement we are in discussions with the customer on both short and long-term strategic decarbonization initiatives,” said Pia Synnerman, chief customer officer of the company.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen was in the headlines a few times in January as it signed two multi-year shipping deals worth around $1.2bn, a separate contract with a South Korean construction machinery company and added two new vessels to its fleet.
