Yang Ming boxship takes out three cranes in Turkey

A 14,000 teu Yang Ming containership knocked out three giant quay cranes at a Turkish port on Saturday.

One crane operator was seriously injured when the 368 m long YM Witness got its docking procedures badly wrong when calling at Evyap port with a pilot onboard.

Several containers also fell from the ship in the ensuing crane domino chaos with one crane landing in the middle of the 2015-built ship.

Investigations into the accident are underway.
