Yasa puts five bulkers back up for sale

Amid a significant fleet rejuvenation programme Turkey’s Yasa Shipping has put a tranche of its older bulker fleet back up for sale.

The Istanbul owner has placed the 82,000 dwt Yasa Neslihan, 75,000 dwt sister ships Yasa Team and Yasa Unity, and sister supramaxes Yasa Gulten and Yasa Ozcan up for sale. All the ships were built in 2005 and 2006.

Yasa first put these ships in the shop window in July with no joy. Brokers reckon Yasa could scoop around $60m if all five ships are sold this time.

In the last year Yasa has ordered four 49,000 dwt MR tankers and eight ultramax bulkers. Its current fleet comprises 20 bulkers and six tankers.
