Zodiac adds four 14,300 teu boxships at Hyundai Heavy Industries

Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime has placed an order at South Korean shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the construction of four 14,300 teu containerships, confirming a story by Splash last month.

The total value of the contract is $405.6m and deliveries will start from July 2020.

Zodiac currently has another five 11,000 teu boxships under construction at HHI, with deliveries scheduled in 2019. It owns a fleet of 134 vessels comprised of 36 bulkers, 41 containerships, 39 tankers, three LPG carriers and 15 car carriers.
