Zodiac Maritime quietly adds Japanese kamsarmax bulker

Eyal Ofer’s Zodiac Maritime has gone under the radar to add a Tsuneishi-built kamsarmax bulker to its fleet in an off-market transaction.

Zodiac picked up the 2013-built Key Mission from Japan’s Mizuho Sangyo and renamed it Blue Ridge. No price is available for the transaction, although Vesselsvalue puts the market value of the ship at $22.4m.

The vessel was on long-term charter to NYK, although it is yet known if NYK took up a purchase option on the vessel and immediately flipped it to Zodiac.
