Atwood Oceanics jackup secures extension from Mubadala

US offshore driller Atwood Oceanics has secured a four-month extension for jackup rig Atwood Orca with Mubadala Petroleum operating offshore Thailand.

According to Atwood Oceanics, it has secured a higher dayrate in the new contract extension which also includes two four-month options. The rig has been working with Mubadala since April 2013.

The latest contract extension will keep Atwood Orca employed until August 2018, assuming no options are exercised.
