Bergen Group completes sale of rig yard

Oslo: Bergen Group has now come to an agreement with Semco Maritime for the sale of its rig service activity, and with Hellik Teigen for the sale of its real estate at Hanøytangen. The parties have agreed to uphold the sales price of NOK245m, which was initially agreed upon last month before a the sale hit a hitch, which has now been resolved. A closing of the transaction is expected to take place by the end of today.

“When the closing finalises today, we have succeeded in established a strong ownership at Hanøytangen and thus enabling this unique industrial area the possibility to become the North Sea leading facility within projects, service and maintenance for the rig market”, the three company leaders stated in a joint comment.

Semco Maritime already has existing facilities in Esbjerg and Invergordon.
