Caravel snaps up Diana Shipping panamax on charter

Caravel Shipping has snapped up the 2001-built panamax bulker Dione from Greece’s Diana Shipping.

The charter is for a period of nine to 12 months commencing February 4, at a day rate of $7,200 per day.

Diana Shipping said that the charter is expected to generate around $1.92m of gross revenue based on the minimum time charter period.

Caravel Shipping is part of Caravel Group, founded by ex-Noble chief Harry Banga in 2013, and is headed by former Noble executive Mudit Paliwal.

Paliwal told Splash today that Caravel currently has around 80 ships on the water.
