Dolphin Drilling semi-sub awarded BP drilling contract

Fred. Olsen Energy subsidiary Dolphin Drilling has been awarded a contract by BP for 1974-built semi-submersible rig Blackford Dolphin.
 
The rig is coming out of layup for the contract, which is for one well with four options in the UK North Sea.
 
The contract is scheduled to commence in May 2018 and is estimated to take around 60 days. The company said the value is £5.9m ($8.2m) indicating a day rate of around $137,000.

Grant Rowles

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore.
