GC Rieber Shipping has won a cable lay charter from James Fisher Marine Services for subsea construction support vessel Polar Onyx in the British Sector of the North Sea.

Polar Onyx recently completed a Nigerian campaign, and prior to that was famously yanked from the now bankrupt Ceona where it was on a five-year charter, performing advanced deep-water operations with Petronas in Brazil.
