Icon Offshore eyes growth from PSVs

Kuala Lumpur: Icon Offshore, one of Malaysia’s major offshore support vessel (OSV) operators, plans to generate growth from two of its newly acquired diesel electric PSVs this year. Icon Offshore made revenues of RM180m and a net profit of RM64m in 2012. It plans to register a 10% increase in revenue for 2013.

“Icon Offshore is the first Malaysian company to take delivery of this diesel electric PSV,” said Dr Jamal Yusof, ceo of Icon Offshore, adding that the vessel, Tanjung Piai 1, was energy efficient and will serve the offshore oil and gas industry in Peninsular Malaysia as will the second vessel, Tanjung Piai 2, that will be delivered at Labuan shipyard sometime in November.

The acquisition of two diesel electric PSVs will expand Icon’s fleet to 35 vessels by the end of this year. [21/06/13]
