IMC Group orders tanker quartet at GSI

Singapore’s IMC Group has signed shipbuilding contracts with Guangzhou Shipyard International, an affiliate yard of CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering, for the construction of four 55,000 dwt product tankers.

The contract also includes options to construct an additional four vessels. Pricing and delivery dates were not disclosed.

Founded by the Tsao family, IMC Group currently operates a fleet of 23 tankers and 10 bulkers.

GSI has secured a series of new tanker orders in the past month. In addition to this latest IMC order, it secured orders for seven tankers from Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation and three tankers from Shanghai North Sea Shipping.
