Singapore: Keppel FELS, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine, has announced this morning it has won a contract to build four jackup rigs for Mexican drilling company Grupo R.
The deal for the jackup rigs, built to Keppel’s KFELS B Class design, is valued at $820m with delivery scheduled during 2015.
Wong Kok Seng, md of Keppel FELS, said, “Mexico is an important market for us and we are glad that Mexican operators have chosen the KFELS B Class as their preferred rig design and Keppel as the preferred shipyard.”
Keppel now has 22 KFELS B Class rigs on its orderbook with deliveries into 2015. [28/03/13]
