LGR Navigazione selling two MR tankers to newly formed Navigare Capital Partners

Italy’s LGR di Navigazione is in the process of selling two of the four MR tankers remaining in its fleet to a company in connection with the newly formed Navigare Capital Partners. Navigare is an investment company established a few weeks ago investing in maritime assets including asset backed securities and debt. Navigare aims to build a diversified portfolio of assets across shipping segments. The first partnership has already been signed with Danish pension funds PensionDanmark and Danica which gave birth to the Maritime Investment Fund I whose mission is to buy, lease and sell ships.

The first two assets due to be bought by Navigare for some $48m are the MR tankers Miseno and Nisida, both ships delivered to LGR Navigazione by STX Shipbuilding in 2012. The Naples-based shipping company lead by Carlo Pontecorvo will be left with two tankers as another four gas carriers were already sold to Anthony Veder in January 2016.
