Maersk Drilling jackup gets work from Wintershall

Maersk Drilling has been awarded a one-well contract by Wintershall for jackup rig Maersk Resolve.

The work scope covers drilling and potential testing of the Winchelsea II well offshore UK, and is expected to take around 86-days commencing late June. Further options are also available to Wintershall.

Michael Reimer Mortensen, head of global sales at Maersk Drilling, commented: “With the new contract secured for Maersk Resolve, we are strengthening our presence in the North Sea even further. This is a key market for us, and we look forward to working closely together with Wintershall Noordzee to deliver a safe and efficient drilling operation.”

The Maersk Resolve has been warm-stacked in Esbjerg Harbour, Denmark and is now preparing for the project.
