Doha: Qatar Petroleum and Wintershall announced yesterday the discovery of a new field of natural gas in Region 4 North Khuff, near the North Gas Field and at a depth of about 70 m underwater to the north of country’s territorial waters. The field has estimated reserves of 2.5trn cu ft of natural gas.
Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, minister of energy and industry and chairman of Qatar Petroleum, said the new field will be developed in cooperation with Ntrchal and Mitsui. [11/03/13]
