Nisshin offloads more bulkers

Nisshin Shipping is staying loyal to its strategy and continues to offload bulkers. The last month of the year is mirroring the sales efforts it made in its first month of the year. Then the Tokyo headquartered outfit was minimising its exposure to the ongoing dry cargo bloodbath shedding bulkers of all sizes, at a rate of more than one a week.

On the first day of December Nisshin, who ranks as one of the year’s most active bulkers sellers, was reported selling the the Tsuneishi-built 82,000 dwt Epson Trader to a Greek owner for $10.75m.

This weeks brokers are reporting the sale two other kamsarmaxes it has put out on the market. Both these ships are six years old.

Nisshin, who can boost a healthy fleet of close to 50 bulkers, has sold 16 bulkers so far this year, while only buying two Japanese built kamsarmax resales from another active Japanese seller, Kambara Kisen, who in comparison is listed selling twelve bulkers so far this year.
