Noble Corp admits link to Petrobras corruption scandal

Drilling firm Noble Corp has admitted it has done some business with an agent in Brazil who recently pleaded guilty to charges in the Petrobras corruption scandal.

“We have used a commercial agent in Brazil in connection with our Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. drilling contracts,” the company said in a release on Wednesday. “This agent has pled guilty in Brazil in connection with the award of a drilling contract to a competitor and has implicated a Petrobras official as part of a wider investigation of Petrobras’ business practices.”

The Petrobras corruption scandal has been ongoing for months and has unearthed billions of dollars of misdeeds.
