Ocean Installer wins Malta FSU contract

Offshore engineering company Ocean Installer has been awarded a turnkey project for the procurement and installation of a spread mooring chain system for a floating storage unit (FSU) in Malta by ElectroGas Malta.

The mooring installation and hook-up takes place in Marsaxlokk Bay, where the FSU will be providing re-gasified LNG for the fueling of electricity generators onshore at Delimara power station.

“With this project, we further consolidate our position as a provider of competitive mooring services, and again proving that our strategy of casting a wider net in a challenging market is successful,” said Steinar Riise, ceo of Ocean Installer.

The project will be managed from Ocean Installer’s offices in Stavanger and Aberdeen.
