Odfjell appoints Clipper’s Kristian Mørch as new CEO

Norway: Clipper’s co-ceo Kristian Mørch has been announced as the new ceo/president of chemical tanker operator Odfjell, succeeding Tore Jakobsen.

A Danish citizen, Mørch, 48, worked in various management positions in over 20 years at A.P. Moller-Maersk, most notably coo of Maersk Tankers, before he joined Clipper Group in 2011.

“We are very pleased to have Kristian Mørch to lead Odfjell SE. His extensive industry experience together with excellent personal capabilities and leadership skills makes him the ideal candidate to further develop the company,” remarked Odfjell chairman, Laurence Odfjell.

Commenting on his new role, Mørch said: “It is a privilege to take up the position as CEO/President of Odfjell SE. Odfjell has a strong heritage and the highest level of expertise, giving Odfjell a unique position in a very competitive global market. I am looking very much forward to together with the team, further develop Odfjell’s position as a sustainable and profitable company.”

Mørch will begin in the new role November 1 at the latest.

Grant spent nine years at Informa Group based in London, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. He gained strong management experience in publishing, conferences and awards schemes in the shipping and legal areas, working on a number of titles including Lloyd's List. In 2009 Grant joined Seatrade responsible for the commercial development of Seatrade’s Asia products. In 2012, with Sam Chambers, he co-founded Asia Shipping Media.
