Singapore Maritime Week set to be biggest yet

Singapore: The Lion Republic will welcome thousands of shipping executives from across the world next week for what will be its largest Singapore Maritime Week to date, further underscoring the city state’s growing preeminence on the world shipping stage.

Among the many events taking place is the anchor show, Sea Asia, at the Marina Bay Sands complex. There’s the annual Singapore Maritime Lecture, which this year sees James Hughes-Hallett, chairman of the Swire Group at the lectern. With offshore business ever more prominent in Singapore there’s three conferences on the theme, one of FPSOs, another on rigs, and also one on OSVs. On the tech front, there’s a ballast water treatment management conference while the Maritime and Port Authority will host a bunker forum too. Also of interest is a one day piracy event and towards the end of the week there’s the 5th Asian Maritime Law Conference. There’s plenty more besides, a useful calendar of the events can be found HERE.

The week will also see plenty of social events, not least our parent company, Asia Shipping Media, hosting a by-invite-only drinks with our good friends from Faststream Recruitment, Rustibus and Transas at the trendy CaffeB in the Marina Bay Sands complex.

In short, prepare for a hectic week, and try and rest up this weekend! [05/04/13]
