Muscat: With much of its Phase I acreage already full, Sohar Free Zone has satrted the next phase of its special economic zone adjoining the industrial port on Oman’s Batinah coast.
Phase II, covering an area of around 1,000 hectares, represents a two-fold increase over the roughly 500 ha developed under the first phase. The design of the second phase is now underway.
Since its formal launch in 2010, Sohar Free Zone has attracted around 26 projects with an investment value totalling $620m. [29/01/15]
