Stealth Maritime sells ageing MR for $8m

In the MR market the Stealth Maritime controlled Epiphany, built in 2002, has been sold to IMS Greece for just in excess of $8m, according to the latest weekly report from Clarkson Research.

“Whilst pricing is a step down relative to recent activity (many will point to the sale of the coated tanker Jenny, which changed hands in July for a price in the region of $9.5m), it is important to consider that the ship will be delivered to the new buyers with its dry docking and special surveys due imminently,” Clarkson Research noted.

With tanker rates hitting the skids this year Stealth Maritime has been looking to prune back its fleet list. In January it sold an aframax to Winson Oil for around $11.5m.
