Bangkok: Mermaid Maritime has announced that subsidiary Mermaid Offshore Services has been awarded a subsea construction support services contract with a major engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contractor in Thailand serving a major international upstream oil and gas operator.
Mermaid will utilise “Mermaid Commander” DP2 dive support vessel for the contract work which has been awarded to Mermaid for the the ninth consecutive year. The 2014 contract is worth around $32m with options for up to two additional campaign years.
The company also announced that its Jakarta-based subsea and survey unit PT Seascape Surveys Indonesia has taken delivery of the DP2 remotely operated vehicle support vessel renamed ‘Resolution’ on long term charter for an initial period of three years plus options for up to an additional two years. ‘Resolution’ has several confirmed project commitments in Thailand and Indonesia for 2014.
