Cebu will be able to handle larger bulkers soon

Manila: Delayed by two years, dredging at Cebu International Port is now underway and new bulk handling facilities are being installed allowing bulk carriers of up to 50,000 metric tons to use the Mactan Channel and call at the central Philippine port by the end of the year, according to officials from the local port authority. The infrastructure improvement will quintuple the size of ships capable of calling at the port.  [06/02/14]
