Star Bulk to open Singapore chartering office

Singapore: Star Bulk Carriers Corp, the leading name in shipping’s ongoing phase of consolidation, is set to open up a chartering office in the Lion Republic, the company’s chairman, Spyros Capralos has told our sister site, Maritime CEO, in an exclusive interview. The office will be up and running by the end of the year. The Greek company is now the largest US-listed dry bulk owner following mergers and acquisitions with Oceanbulk and Excel Maritime giving it a fleet, including newbuildings, of 103 ships.

“Right now, bulk is still at a low part of the cycle,” Capralos admitted. To access the full interview, click here.  [26/09/14]
