Altera Shuttle Tankers ships out vintage aframax for FSO conversion

Altera Shuttle Tankers has sold its twenty-year-old aframax for conversion into a floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit.

The Samsung-built 93,000 dwt shuttle tanker Petroatlantic, VesselsValue lists at around $32.6m has been offloaded for $19m.

The vessel which operated in the North Sea contract of affreightment pool has already been delivered to an unnamed buyer and renamed Margareta.

The shuttle tankers arm of Brookfield Asset Management-controlled Altera Infrastructure was formed in 2017. The company has a fleet of 21 vessels, of which 20 are owned.
