Norway’s Awilco LNG has agreed a deal with an Asian-based leasing company for the refinancing of the company’s two 2013-built LNG carriers, WilForce and WilPride.
The refinancing is a sale and leaseback deal, on more favourable terms than the current leaseback deal which runs through to the end of the year.
Awilco LNG says it expects the new financing to close during the fourth quarter of this year.
WilForce is still at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore undergoing repairs following a collision off Singapore in June, while WilPride commenced a new eight-month charter last month.
