Borealis adds another boxship

Aggressive UK-based owner Borealis Maritime continues to pile on the tonnage. Multiple broking reports have the Christoph Toepfer-led company paying KG Projex $10.1m for the 12-year-old 2,510 teu Hermes boxship, a price brokers Braemar ACM described as “roughly in line” with recent sales.

The last Borealis acquisition reported by Splash was in mid-February when it acquired the 2012-built 3,421 teu HS Rossini from German owner Hansa Treuhand for $11.2m.

Founded in 2010, the Borealis fleet today stands at 64 ships, led by smaller boxships as well as six bulk carriers, a pair of LPG carriers, 13 chemical tankers and one product carrier.

  1. Link says year build as 1994 but article mentions 12 year old vessel. One of the informations is wrong!
