Borealis Maritime cuts supramax fleet in half

Borealis Maritime has cut its supramax fleet in half with the sale for $15m of the seven-year-old Bomar Amber, notching a tidy $3m profit in the process for the 58,000 dwt bulker.

The London-based outfit, led by Christoph Toepfer, entered the supramax sector in 2016, adding two ships. Its diverse fleet today stands at 29 vessels.

Borealis Maritime made headlines all through 2018 adding a total of 18 ships, mostly panamax and post-panamax containers ships in addition to six PSVs.

This year the company has added four more panamax containerships and sold some older and slightly smaller container vessels.
