Dynacom Tankers acquires VLCC from Kyoei Tankers

Greek owner Dynacom Tankers has acquired a secondhand VLCC from Japanese owner Kyoei Tankers.

VesselsValue shows that Dynacom Tankers bought from Kyoei Tankers the 300,000dwt Taizan for $15m. The 15-year-old vessel requires immediate drydocking and permanent repairs to ballast tanks.

Kyoei Tankers is in the process of a fleet renewal programme to replace old tonnage with newbuildings.

This week, Kyoei Tankers announced that it has placed an order for a 311,000dwt VLCC with Japan Marine United. It also ordered a VLCC at Namura Shipbuilding in February.
