Foremost orders post-panamax pair at Oshima Shipbuilding

US dry bulk owner Foremost Group has placed an order at Japanese yard Oshima Shipbuilding for the construction of two 84,000 dwt bulk carriers.

According to a report by Allied Shipbroking, deliveries of the vessels are scheduled in 2020 and 2021. The value of the order is not disclosed.

The latest order is part of the company’s ongoing fleet optimisation plan.

Foremost ordered two post-panamaxes at Oshima in August last year and in February this year ordered four 210,000 dwt newcastlemax bulkers at China’s Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.

Foremost Group currently operates a fleet of 17 bulkers.
