Great Eastern offloads ageing MR

Indian owner Great Eastern Shipping has struck a deal to sell its 2004-built MR product tanker Jag Prabha.

The price and the buyer of the 47,999 dwt ship Great Eastern picked up for $17m as Pacific Oasis in May 2013, have not been disclosed.

The Iwagi Zosen-built ship, estimated by VesselsValue to be worth $15.4m, will change hands by the end of March next year.

Most recently, the Mumbai-listed Great Eastern, which counts a diversified fleet of over 40 ships, purchased the 2009-built MR tanker Jag Parth, ex-Grand Ace8 for around $23.8m and has also picked up the 2014-built kamsarmax bulker Jag Amaira for about $27.4m after offloading its 2006-built supramax bulker Jag Rohan.
